Homemade Ornament

After work today I went to Michael's for a good hour and a half lol. Craft stores are my Toys R Us!

I picked up a bunch of stuff for some Christmas/Birthday gifts (curse all of you with birthdays during the holiday season-my pockets are draining fast!) and also grabbed stuff to make an ornament for mine and Tyson's first Christmas together as a married couple :).

I got the idea off of Pinterest - of course lol. I loved the idea so much and wanted to start a simple cute tradition with Tys.

It actually wasn't that hard to make thankfully. Just needed:
* Ornament ball
* Ribbon
* Pearls
* Bling
* Letter (added '11 on the bottom for the year)
* Filler / Confetti
* Hot glue
It'll be nice when I just have everything on hand and don't have to purchase EVERYTHING EVERY TIME

The confetti was by far the worst part. I should have picked a heavier filler since this stuff is sticking to everything and I'm pretty sure I've inhaled some of it as well lol.

TIP: buy a bit heavier confetti than the light-weight "Celebrate It Confetti" brand.

And yes, my Christmas Tree is up already and it's only November 14th. Since Tyson isn't home that often I wanted to get it up to make everything feel festive. Although winter is not my favorite time of the year, I do love how cozy the glow of the Christmas tree makes the entire apartment when it comes on every night after work.

My bestie's birthday is Wednesday so I'm working on another craft for her and I hope it turns out well!

Cheer Babies

Another really fun weekend gone by way too fast!

Tys flew in Thursday since he didn't have school Friday due to Veteran's Day. Which, might I add a quick little side note; I am so thankful for all those who served and are serving us today. We wouldn't have our freedoms without them, and for them I am forever grateful.

- 11/11/11; hope you made wishes ALL day long :)

*****
Thursday was pretty chill as usual. After I picked Tyson up from the airport, we headed straight to the store to pick up some food. I am completely lacking in the food department around here. Without someone else to feed, I just live off of whatever I can scrounge up until it's gone and then I resort to easy mac or some other college-student-diet. (which I am never ashamed of lol)
Pretty close; I would add hot pockets :)
Once I had some dinner made for Tys, we settled in for a night of LOST! It sounds bad but we watched 23 episodes this weekend!! hahaha we're a little obsessed. At the end of every episode we find ourselves yelling "WHAT??!!! NO WAY!!" Which leads into another episode so we can find out what is going on lol.
(am I the only one who has to fast forward the show intro because the music is too creepy? haha)
I apologize to those in high school that I made fun of for watching this every week; I am now on the wagon :).

*****
Friday, I decided to go to work full day so Tys could spend some time with his family at Josh's semi-finals football game up at the U. Everyone kept me updated with the score and it was an amazing game! So excited to go to the Finals game this coming Friday.

I'll probably end up taking Friday off from work; between the Twilight: Breaking Dawn pt.1 midnight opening and the finals game Friday afternoon, I might as well take the day off because I would only get about 3 hours of sleep anyways - can't wait!!

BTW - I tried the Bleach Pen T-shirt Design Style for our Twilight shirts....
Should look like this.
Turned out like this
Totally didn't work! I had it all written out nicely and when I went back to check on it, it all blurred together - on to plan B!

I had an eye appointment after work to order some new contacts; needless to say I'm pretty sure I'm legally blind and my up-close-and-personal computer time at work 40 hours a week isn't helping lol. My mom doesn't suggest lasik though. Not sure the technology is quite there yet. So, the blindness continues!
I do have pretty dang good hearing :)
That night, Tys & I decided to head downtown SLC for some grub. We went to Shogun. It is such a quaint little Japanese place tucked away on Main Street. You get to take your shoes off and all :)
Sorry for those we may have just offended

Saturday, I dropped Tyson off at his sister's hair school to get a hair cut while I made a trip to Orem for my high school cheer girl's baby shower!! Kylie's belly is so cute and it was SO much fun getting to see the cheer girls again.
Kylie is so cute

It was really so much fun seeing some of the high school girls again. It was funny noticing how mellow we all are compared to how we were in high school - what has growing up done to us?!  ;).

CONGRATULATIONS KY KY!!! You are going to be the cutest little momma!

After the shower, I picked Tyson up and we just headed back to the apartment for some lunch/dinner and more Lost. I really hope all of our questions are answered with this series; my head is gonna explode! lol

*****
Today, (while watching countless episodes of Lost) I whipped out my Mod Podge and decided to make some crafts! They're really simple but it was fun to do while watchin the tube.
Aw presh :)
Yes, Lost is on lol. "BUCK" on top of the TV
Don't know where to put this one yet

That's about it for this weekend. So much fun seeing old friends and being with the hubby. Couldn't have asked for more.

Tys flies in Thursday again this week! We're at 30 days and counting now!! CAN NOT WAIT TO BE WITH HIM AGAIN SOON!!

Quick Updates

Second to last visit to Mesa...CHECK!! WOOT WOOT!!

We actually did a whole lotta nothin this weekend and it was so nice! Food, TV, food, football, food, TV... the usual Mesa lifestyle for us lol.
living our real niiice lifestyle all classy like
Sunday before my flight we were able to catch another flick...

Aside from being a total Political-Socialist-Robin Hood story, it was pretty good. Crazy concept, which would completely never work. So, if you can block out the HUGE political message, it's a decent movie :)

Thanks for another great mini-vaca Tys! Can't wait to see you Thursday!

Tyson will be home THREE weekends in a row starting Thursday and I can't wait! And he finally has a little mobility in his leg so he won't be gimping so much ;).

*********

I finally worked on/finished another pillow! My other co-worker requested one for her daughter's birthday. (big sports fan I'm guessing). But I thought it turned out pretty cute.
It looks denim but its just dark blue :)
Again, not denim :)
I have a new crafty project to take on now too. Bought some cute letters to mod-podge for the apartment. We'll see how they turn out lol.

And not only do I have that craft, but with Breaking Dawn approaching quickly, Madison, Andy, and I are gonna attempt to make some shirts for the traditional midnight showing!! can't wait!!
Last year at Eclipse midnight showing (not homemade)

If there is one thing I would question in God's beautiful human creation, it would be the teeth of wisdom. If someone could enlighten me as to the purpose of these horrible things let me know. I had my bottom 2 taken out in high school and it looks like I'm going in for the last 2 soon. One is already growing in and it blows. I have my appointment with the dentist tomorrow for him to give me the go and set up my appointment. ohhh boyyy.

Well, that's about it for now. Sorry the update is pretty bland this time, with the holidays and craziness coming up, I'm sure things will pick back up. :)
Awkward Family Photo :)

HaPpY HaLLoWeEn WeEkEnD!!

Tyson flew out AGAIN this weekend!! It's been so nice getting to see him almost every single weekend since he left. And just so you're aware for the next few weekend updates, here is our schedule:
* I fly to Mesa this weekend : just because
* Tyson flies out here November 10th : gets to catch another one of Josh's football playoff games
* Tyson flies out here November 17th : GETS TO go to Breaking Dawn midnight showing with me :)
* Tyson flies out here November 23rd : 5 day HOLIDAY BREAK!
* I fly to Mesa December 2nd : just because
* No visits the weekend of the 9th : Tys has to study for finals
* THEN HE COMES HOME!!!!

I can't believe we are already down to just a few weekends! We only got to be a "real" married couple for about two months, and then, it turned into feeling like his mistress at La Quinta every other weekend.

It's really made me appreciate the time we do have together. Nagging about petty little meaningless things just isn't worth our time when our time has been so limited. It's really pushed our communication skills and we've learned to utilize what resources we have.

PLEASE DON'T TAKE YOUR TIME WITH YOUR SIGNIFICANT OTHER FOR GRANTED; YOU NEVER KNOW WHEN THEY WON'T BE AROUND ANYMORE.

*******
Any who, so Tyson flew in Friday after work as usual. We headed straight to Lone Peak for Josh's football game since they're in the playoffs. They were blowing Hunter out of the water; not even a close game. And so, the high school games continue. :)

*******
Saturday, I attempted another breakfast for Tys. French toast, sausage, eggs, toast. It actually didn't turn out too bad; considering I NEVER get to practice cooking for anyone anymore.

My Mom came to take some pictures of Tyson & I for the family Christmas card. We're going collage-style this year since we can never get the whole family together. I love the way they turned out. Considering I don't have my wedding pictures yet (starting to wonder...) I need to fill our picture frames with some current pictures and these are the perfect start.

Later that night, Tys and I went to Thriller! I've gone a ton of times but I still love it! Tyson and I have gone every year since we've dated and surprisingly, he really likes it too. They added a few new dances this year but I wasn't impressed. Too dance-y for the Thriller concept. But, still loved it nonetheless!

*******
Sunday, we spent a few hours with the Bucks. Ended up just going on a walk and pushing Tyson around in a wheelchair - definitely feeling it in my legs today! Then we just chilled at the apartment while I attempted yet another meal and made dessert for my work's Halloween Pot Luck.

I definitely need to learn how to cook meats; I seriously just can't get it right!

Made Cup O' Dirt for the work party. Loved it! They're so festive and very yummy :)

Later, I had to sadly drop Tyson of at the airport... man that's getting old.

******
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!! I absolutely LOVE Halloween! The weather has been perfect all October too which has made it even better since Fall is my favorite season.

I had to post a picture of Ryan and Madison's jack-o-lanterns. Haha can you tell which brand Ry is OBSESSED with?

My team at work dressed as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (and the apple and the Witch). It was pretty nice wearing sweats all day :).

After work, I spent the rest of the night at my parent's house. Kinda sad spending my favorite holiday without Tyson. But, my mom was a trooper and watched Halloween with me! I have loved the Halloween series since I can remember - thanks Ry for always being my Halloween buddy growing up :)

*****
Can NOT believe it's already November tomorrow! This year has seriously flown so fast! And it's been AMAZING! Almost time to work on the new Family DVD for 2011. Always fun to relive the year over again :).

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween weekend!!

Byeeeeee.....
